Laishley Park

It connects to the system of bike trails, offer picnic areas, has a play structure, a fountain that kids love to splash in, and a marina and boat launch. 

Ponce De Leon Park

Ponce de Leon Park is 16 acres with a boardwalk, children's play area, fishing pier, small beach, wildlife sanctuary, and boat ramp. It shares a border with the Charlotte Harbor State Preserve. It is a great quiet area in Punta Gorda.

Fisherman's Village

 Fisherman's Village is a favorite center of activities in Punta Gorda right on the water. Watch the boats come and go from the marina or grab a fishing pole and try your luck. Stroll through the many charming shops or enjoy a meal at one of the great restaurants.

Port Charlotte Beach Park

Port Charlotte Beach Park is located on the southeast end of Harbor Boulevard in Port Charlotte.  It is good to note that there is a .75 per hour parking or 6.75 for the entire day. The park features sports courts, a boardwalk, a playground, picnic shelters, concessions, and a community swimming pool.

Englewood Beach

Englewood Beach is one of the most popular in the area. It is located across the water on the barrier island of Manasota Key. This Gulf Coast beach features white sand and plenty of wildlife. It is rarely ever crowded and there are a handful of great local restaurants within walking distance. Stump Pass

Boca Grande 

Across the Boca Grande Causeway and through the village of Boca Grande you will find four miles of beachfront on the Gulf of Mexico. It is good to know the Causeway has a $6 toll and the parking is $2. The public beach in Boca Grande is popular for its large shade trees, lighthouses, and light-green surf. Boca Grande has full beach facilities that include showers, picnic areas, and grills. 

Don Pedro Island State Park

Don Pedro is another of the many barrier islands of the southwest Florida coast. It is only accessible by boat but well worth a visit. It is a popular place to stop for kayakers. The island features sandy beach and hiking trails. There is a parking fee of $3. Currently, a portion of the island is closed along with the kayak launches and docks while they await repair. 

There are several opportunities to enjoy the waterfront around Punta Gorda. From small shoreline community parks to large white sand beaches that are rarely crowded. You will find even more beach-going opportunities about 45 minutes to an hour south of Punta Gorda in the Fort Meyers area.
